Our client is seeking a dynamic and proactive Vice President of Operations. This key leadership role will drive operational excellence within our multimodal operations business units. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations, finance, strategic planning, and leadership in a decentralized structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the VP Finance to analyze and interpret operational and financial data, including key performance indicators, cost efficiency, ROI, capital allocation, profitability analysis, and pricing strategies.
- Provide critical insights, challenge assumptions, and inspire confidence during the development and negotiation of contracts, assessment of investment opportunities, and proposal of new business ventures, ensuring a strong financial perspective is maintained.
- Utilize data to identify trends, interpret financial and operational reports, and support informed decision-making for senior management, contributing to strategic discussions and continuous improvement efforts.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and community partners, to build strong relationships and enhance the company's reputation.
- Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and safety standards.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the operational team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to support the business unit's growth objectives and expansion initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational strategies with overall business goals.
- Manage operational budgets, optimize resource allocation, and ensure financial targets are met.
- Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety protocols.
- Lead change management initiatives, promoting innovation and adaptability.
- Regularly visit various locations to maintain a strong presence, build relationships, and address operational challenges firsthand.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in operations management
- Proven track record of leading large, diverse teams and managing complex operations.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire teams at all levels.
- Experience in a decentralized organizational structure is a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently to various locations (approximately 5 days per month).
